What was recalled:Â The following specific lots of 4-can packages of 9Lives Protein Plus cat food:
- Tuna & Chicken, UPC #7910021549, 4 pack of 5.5 oz. cans, best by dates of March 27 – Nov. 14, 2020
- Tuna & Liver, UPC #7910021748, 4 pack of 5.5 oz. cans, best by dates of April 17 – Sept. 14, 2020
The recall announcement notes that company itself discovered the thiamine issue during routine quality tests, and that “No illnesses related to this issue have been reported to date.”
The affected products were distributed nationwide through various retailers.
No other 9Lives or Smucker’s products are being recalled, according to the company.
Customers who have purchased any 4-can packages of 9Lives Protein Plus Tuna & Chicken or Tuna & Liver cat foods within the “best by” date ranges in 2020 specified above should stop feeding the products and return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
